Best Surrogacy Centres in India: Quick Answer
These are 10 well-known fertility centres in India’s metro cities, scored out of 100 on facts each centre publishes itself: its surrogacy service, its lead doctor’s experience, how many cycles or births it reports, how clearly it explains its success rate, and its Level 2 registration on the national ART registry. How We Scored These Centres
Every point comes from a fact the centre publishes on its own website, or from the national ART registry. We do not accept payment for placement.
| What we score | Points | How points are given |
|---|---|---|
| Surrogacy service | 25 | Dedicated surrogacy service published: 25 · listed among treatments: 10 · not published: 0 |
| Lead doctor’s experience | 25 | 30+ years: 25 · 20–29: 20 · 10–19: 12 · not published: 5 |
| Published volume | 25 | 1,00,000+ cycles, pregnancies, babies or families: 25 · 20,000–99,999: 20 · 5,000–19,999: 12 · less or not published: 5 |
| Success-rate transparency | 15 | Rate with a defined measure and period: 15 · rate with a period or sample but no defined outcome: 12 · rate only: 8 · none published: 0 |
| Level 2 ART registration | 10 | Listed at Level 2 on the national ART registry: 10 |
Why we score transparency, not the success number. Clinics measure “success” differently: a positive pregnancy test, a pregnancy per transfer, or a pregnancy over a year of treatment. Those numbers cannot be compared, so we give more points to centres that say exactly what their figure measures.
Vinsfertility is not part of this ranking. Our centres are in Delhi (Katwaria Sarai and Janakpuri East), Mumbai (Mumbai Central), Bengaluru (Marathahalli) and Ranchi (Hinoo).

How to Check a Surrogacy Centre Before You Sign
- Check its ART registration number on the national registry and confirm it is Level 2.
- Ask for its surrogacy clinic registration under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021. An IVF registration alone is not enough.
- Ask what its success rate measures: pregnancy test, pregnancy per transfer or live birth, and for which year.
- Ask how many surrogacy cases it has completed, not just IVF cycles.
- Get a written, itemised quote covering IVF, transfers, the surrogate’s medical care, 36-month insurance, delivery and legal work.
- Ask who files the eligibility and essentiality certificates and the court order.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best surrogacy centre in India?
There is no official ranking. On our published scoring, Birla Fertility & IVF in Delhi scores highest (84/100), mainly for its lead doctor’s experience and its published surrogacy service.
Are these success rates verified?
No. They are what each centre reports on its own website. We score how clearly each centre explains its figure rather than the figure itself.
Are all these centres registered?
Yes. All ten are listed at Level 2 on the national ART registry. Surrogacy needs a separate registration, so ask each centre for it.
Why is a large IVF chain ranked below a hospital unit?
Centres lose points when they publish no surrogacy service or no success rate. Size alone does not decide the rank.
How much does surrogacy cost at these centres?
Our indicative estimates for these centres range from about ₹16.5 lakh to ₹23.5 lakh for a complete altruistic surrogacy journey. Always get a written, itemised quote.
Is Vinsfertility in this list?
No. Our own centres are shown separately and are not scored, so the ranking stays independent.
